Ghana international John Antwi made a perfect start to life at new club Misr El Maqassa after scoring twice to help his side record a 3 – 0 victory over Petrojet in the Egyptian FA Cup on Wednesday night.
Antwi, who is on a short term loan from Al Ahly found the net in the 52nd minute, perfectly connecting to a Nageel Rajab cross to tap home Maqasa’s second on the night.
The 24 year old increased the tally again in the 67th minute with a similar touch from his first, again connecting well to a perfect delivery to mark an impressive debut night in his first competitive game in the new year.
The victory for Maqassa qualifies them to the semi final stage of the Cup competition.
John was awarded the “Golden Shoe” trophy in the 2015/16 season after scoring four times in the same competition and looks set for another silverware after a blistering form in his first appearance for Misr El-Maqassa.
