Ghana pair of defender Mohammed Kasola and striker Mohammed Muntari are set to part ways with the Qatari National Team as the Gulf Country tries to implement new policies in their football.

Kasola who plays for Al Sadd and Muntari who also features for Al Lekwhiya have both naturalized for the oil country but could be shown the exit as the country plans to rely only on the natives and groom them for the 2022 World Cup.

The Qatari National Team is dominated by foreigners mostly from South America and Africa and it has not gone well with the Country’s Sports Ministry as it has eventually crippled their youth development.

“It is about time we do away with all foreign players and develop our own ahead of the 2022 World Cup” A statement from the Ministry revealed.

“The Naturalized foreign players are killing the dreams of our local talents and we must stop that”

The Ministry has proposed that all the foreign players in the team should be sacked but Coach Jorge Fossati has threatened to resigned from his post if the decision is implemented.

Kasola has featured 107 times for the Maroons since 2010 and has netted seven goals whilst Muntari has also banged in six goals in 15 appearances.
