Ghana Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah has tipped his side to conquer Africa in the upcoming 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon.

The four-time African Champions have fallen short twice in the last four editions with the most recent being beaten by West African neighbors Ivory Coast on penalties in 2015.

Avram Grant’s side has not been dreadful as they used to despite qualifying for the continental football showpiece unbeaten.

But the Torino player believes the Black Stars, despite not having a smooth run in their last four games especially in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers will emerge as tops in this year’s AFCON.

“I think we have a good team like we had in the last tournament.” Acquah is qouted by AFP.

“We played in the final in the previous edition but we lost to the Ivory Coast after a penalty shootout,”

“We have a tougher mentality this time around. We are working hard to be in the final and win the cup.”

The Black Stars are expected to fly to Gabon from their base in Abu Dhabi by close of Friday.
